Background
Tijuan was born in Birmingham, Alabama and moved to Lawrenceville in July, 1999. She has been involved in lay ministry since 1993 and served in many servant leadership roles in the local body of Christ. Tijuan earned a Bachelor degree in English and Marketing from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary.
She assumed the responsibilities as Adult Christian Education Coordinator at McKendree in February, 2009. Ministries under her oversight include Sunday School, Disciple Bible Studies, the Alpha Program, Bible 101 and 102 Program, Lay Leadership Training, and the ever expanding Small Group Connections Program. Prior to assuming this lay leadership position, Tijuan was commissioned as a Small Group Leader and served as the Apprentice to Small Group Leader Training this past fall. Tijuan’s current passion is to develop various innovative opportunities for Christian discipleship and spiritual growth amongst God’s people, and to provide care and nurture to those in need as an image-bearer of Christ.
