Adult Christian Education - Disciple Bible Studies
In 2 Peter 3:18, we are told to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
The Disciple Bible Study Series offers an avenue for daily, in-depth time with the Lord, and fellowship with others who want to grow their faith. The studies include about 30 minutes of reading, 6 days a week. Classes meet once a week for 2 1/2 hours of fellowship and discussion, and are typically offered on Sunday afternoons, Monday and Wednesday evenings. Most classes have childcare and are limited to 14 participants |

Disciple I: Becoming Disciples through Bible Study (34 weeks)
This is the first of the Disciple Bible studies. Participants read an overview of the Bible. The purpose of this study may be summarized in the words of Ephesians 4:12 “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Participants must take Disciple 1 before taking other Disciple classes. |
| |
Disciple II: Into the Word into the World (32 weeks)
Participants read all of Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts. Each week’s reading assignments will also include
appropriate passages from other parts of the Bible. |
| |
Disciple III: Remember Who You Are (32 weeks)
This study explores the connection between memory and identity as the people of God. Participants will read the Old Testament prophets and the letters of Paul. |
| |
Disciple IV: Under the Tree of Life (32 weeks)
Emphasis on the Psalms as Israel’s hymn book and prayer book leads naturally to the emphasis on worship in the study. Participants read the Writings in the Old Testament. Participants will also read New Testament Scriptures—the Gospel of John; 1, 2, 3 John; James; Jude; and Revelation. |
| |
Jesus in the Gospels (30 weeks)
Participants will read the four Gospels and Scripture from other parts of the Bible. This study invites believers to look at Jesus in each of the four Gospels and ask the question, “Who is the Jesus that you see?” This study looks at the way each Gospel writer presents events and teachings, and at the picture of Jesus that emerges in each of the Gospels. |
| |
Christian Believer: Knowing God with Heart and Mind (30 weeks)
This study assumes that most Christians want to know what the church teaches and how it makes a difference in their own lives. CHRISTIAN BELIEVER addresses the connection between believing and daily living. |
